Carolyn Quinlan, HBA, is a co-founder and the VP Bioethics and Operations at Juniper Genomics. Carolyn is an innovation-driven and analytically inclined individual, applying bioethics to AI and up-and-coming technologies in healthcare. At Juniper, she is responsible for Identifying bioethical issues posed by genetic and reproductive technologies, and guiding ethically informed innovation and product development, as well as sharing operational responsibilities. Through May 2023, Carolyn is completing her MSc HSR degree in Health Systems Artificial Intelligence at U of T, where she is researching the normative issues encountered by the designers and auditors of a computer vision AI technology designed for use in clinical care, as well as the perceived utility of available resources intended to help designers and auditors address these issues. Carolyn was named to Women in AI Ethics’ list of 100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics in 2023.
