Carla is a scientific innovator and entrepreneur 18 years experience in skin and wound therapeutics and drug-device combinations. Prior to founding Noa, she led the development of a novel topical therapeutic for complicated skin and skin structure disease at Exciton Pharma Corp; driving the company from drug discovery through to Phase Ib/IIa clinical study within 5 years. She also led research teams developing Class II/III drug-device products for wound infection: guiding research from concept through to commercialization, resulting in global license through 3M. Carla also leverages her foundational knowledge in bio-inorganic chemistry from her Ph.D. at McGill University with Dr. D.S. Bohle, the Canadian Chair in Bioinorganic chemistry, and her pharmaceutical formulations experience at BASF.
